Thanks to the Zhongshan Highway, Yongkang City has seen significant industrial and commercial development, leading to a continuous increase in population. What was once a vast green field, the 'Dawan City Land Readjustment Area,' is now filled with buildings of various sizes. Kunshan Elementary School, established twenty years ago, has grown from six classes to over sixty classes. Under the leadership of Principal Yu Menghe, the school has demonstrated many distinctive features:

1.The school has a well-organized layout, with clear separation between active and quiet zones. It offers a broad and open view, making one feel  uplifted and cheerful when being there.

2.The "field" (田)-shaped classrooms with double corridors have no iron bars on the windows. The exterior is covered with white tiles, creating an open, free, and joyful learning environment for everyone.

3.The establishment of the "Cultural and Educational Foundation" promotes various cultural and educational activities, making it unique among the more than 170 elementary schools in the county.

4.The majestic "Chengde Hall" is a comprehensive activity center that includes an international conference hall with 198 seats and a badminton court with a beech wood floor.

5.Four tennis courts with mineral sand surfaces have been established, forming a tennis club with the community that allows for all-day play.

6.The enthusiastic Parent Committee and volunteer mothers work closely with the school, actively participating in educational efforts. Together with the dedicated staff and faculty, they create a harmonious atmosphere throughout the school.

7.In various sports and arts education, the emphasis on balanced development in all five areas of education and the focus on developing multiple intelligences enable students to thrive, often achieving excellent results.

8.The community and the school support each other, with more than a dozen community groups using the campus for various practices and performances every morning and evening. This mutual care for the maintenance of school facilities has resulted in very few incidents of theft or vandalism on campus.

9.The successful integration of various programs includes the advanced promotion of badminton, systematic swimming instruction, innovative and engaging science games, active promotion of language competitions and marine education, as well as the development of practical English and local languages. The incorporation of information technology into all aspects of teaching, along with refined instructional methods, broadens students' learning experiences, allowing them to grow healthily and learn diversely in an enjoyable environment, and fostering an international perspective.
